Lucky Number 7

In our true Drew birthday routine . . . everything was green.

Wednesdays are our busiest days.
He got a new green birthday outfit (which surprisingly he was excited about).

We had to squeeze in birthday lunch at McDonald's.

And then he had to wait until 9:30 after cheer, after art class, after mutual and when everyone finally got here for cake.

Which was funfetti all the way.

He got Legos, darts and a new dart gun.

So Ryan, Jeff, Olivia and Drew were up for an epic nerf gun war ensued (welts and all).

School Days

Olivia had to make a 3-D statue of a main character in her book report book.
She read Harry Potter and chose Hermione.

We all had our own run in with her in the middle of the night in the dark.   She lived the rest of her days shut in the cupboard.

And we hit the 100th day of school.  Drew made the traditional kindergarten 100s poster . . . Yankees.
(He was trying out a face like Liv's.)

He taught himself how to write his name in cursive.

Daddy Daughter Dance 2016.
It was a 20's theme and we just happened to have a flapper costume in the basement.

Olivia invited Sadie to tag along since her dad was out of town.

Two! Two Teeth lost!

The constant work and effort paid off and Drew lost another tooth.

Two teeth, two dollars.

One happy, happy boy.

Welcome Sight

This is such a welcome sight after all these years.

Olivia and Drew have figured out an amicable way to incorporate all interests into their playing.  And we're relieved to see these Avengers are an interest.

Tooth Fairy Visits

I'm sure most of us don't understand the gravity of how terrible it is to be one of the oldest (and tallest since that relates too) in your class and to be the last one to loose a tooth.

It is the worst (apparently).

Drew has been yanking on his "loose" teeth for at least a year now (ever since Eden lost one) and he FINALLY, FINALLY lost his first tooth.

When it actually became loose, it only took him about a day to get it twisted out of there.  Ignore that he needs a haircut (his hairdresser is very busy these days . . . new baby and all).

The tooth fairy came while he was at school (she's very busy these days . . . new baby and all) and he got a sparkly $1.

Now he's feverishly working on his three other "loose" teeth.

Shrapnel

Drew and Eden . . . they're the mostest, bestest friends.

Don came over to pick up Eden and wondered where all the Shrapnel came from all over my drive way . . . what Shrapnel?

Apparently there was a praying mantis . . . and it needed to have all the debris left over from the construction thrown at it . . . regardless of my car being RIGHT there.

When I backed my car out, he was still there - alive - despite the war declared on him.

Unfortunately, that was not their worst to date.  I just didn't have the mind to take a picture when they flooded my bathroom and made a potion of my face cream, tanning lotion and face soap . . . that they poured into my carpet.

Not a good day.

First Day of School 2014 - Round 2

We made the finalized decision to have Drew go to Pre-School 1 more year.

I've been coming up with all the reasons in the book for years as to why I wanted to keep him home.  We went out with my school physcologist friend (so she's a professional in this field).  She made me feel better and said I can just say - it is my preference that he is older.

So - it is my preference that Drew is older when he starts school and so we started year 3 of Pre-School.

He's going to Busy Bee Pre-School with Miss Michelle.
He is happy to be the only one that knew both is first AND last name, he's the tallest and he's "Miss Michelle's best helper!"

Plus I get him home with me for one more year.

He was fine until he realized that his best bud, Eden,
was going to kindergarten THIS year.

But peace was restored when he realized he'd be going to Kindergarten with Lucy.

Back to 1988 . . .

We got into Rollerblading this Fall.  We had mine and Heather's old rollerblades and then Heather picked up enough roller blades at garage sales for the rest of them.

And they've been at it all Fall.

I wish I had pictures of the beginning when Drew and Eden spent the whole time clinging to my car in the driveway, crawling around the cold-de-sac, and knocking each other down.

We had to designate specific "roller blading" clothes because it was ruining the knees in all his new school clothes.

They're profesh now and go straight down the driveway . . . and up.

Drew even picked out a special prize at pre-school . . . a rollerblade sticker.

Birthday Boy!

Birthday boy and the BIG 5!

Five was a big deal for this guy.  He grew so much the night before his birthday he poked a hole in the toe of his fitted pj's - no seriously, he did.

Birthday treats for school.

Ebony and Ivory . . . cupcakes that is.

His actual birthday was going well until he fell off the stool while he was helping frost the cake.
The corner of the cabinet went right into his head.

But after a little nap he was happy and ready to go again for his green themed birthday dinner.

He waited oh so patiently for presents while we cleaned up dinner.

Banna made him a green ombre birthday cake and this is really, truly his "smile" right now.
He's working on it . . .

I did sneak a genuine smile while we were singing.

And surprise . . . ombre inside.

And then we wrapped it up over at the park flying his new airplane and playing soccer.

We love our baby boy and nothing is better than being 5!

Pre-School Graduation 2014

In May we had Drew's cute little Pre-School Graduation.

He was Bingo the Bear that picked blueberries on Blueberry Lane (with David).

Quinton and the Quack Quack Duck (with Eden).

He was all smiles and completely enthusiastic about preforming.

When he grows up he wants to be an Artist (we'll probably have to work on that one).

Class of 2014

And here's our very special little graduate.

Our carpool for the year - Evan, Drew, Eden and Emily - it was the best part of my day when I drove and listened to their conversations.

Drew and Ms. Shannon.

Family Picture with  out little graduate.

And flashback to last time we had a little graduate . . .
