School Bound -Round 2!

The first two days of school for Addison were tough on Olivia. The first day she sat on our back porch yelling for our neighbors (all individually named) to come out. The second day it got even worse, when she sat on the steps in the garage for 40 minutes waiting to pick Addison up. Every couple of minutes she would open the door and yell, "Mom, I'm ready!" I was once good enough entertainment for Addison, but I am not so for my Ollie.

And then finally, pre-school started for Olivia. I love pre-school mornings because she becomes so compliant with anything I need her to do in her excitement to get to school!

School Bound!

First day of school! Addison got the 8:00 track this year which has turned our life upside down. After 12 years (except for various semesters in college) of late, late night and late mornings the time has come to be real people with real schedules. We are now up at 6:45 and rolling. The hardest part is looking at the clock on 11:00 pm and realizing it's bedtime and not just the start of another work night. And it's weird, but fabulous, looking at the clock at 10:00 am and realizing how much I've already gotten done!
Addison and Kate . . . I can't tell if they're excited or scared to death gripping each other's hands.
Anyway, first day of school we did awesome. I went in to wake Addie up and she said she's been laying there waiting for me and she was sure Heavenly Father had blessed her to just wake up (what a sweet child). Addie has 7 kids from our ward in her class and knows a couple more from kindergarten. She has split teachers-Mrs. Plank and Mrs. Barger. One of her teacher's favorite books is Fancy Nancy (perfect match)!
Yes, I followed her around and took a billion pictures (my first born).

After school, we all crashed for 2 hours and 45 minutes-the early morning was tough on us. Ollie spilled water and ended up sleeping naked.

One year older and wiser too . . .

During the last week of school they always have a dance festival. I missed it since I had just come home from the hospital with my c-section and blood clot, so Banna went and got some cute, cute pictures! Isn't she cute . . . my little cheeseball?
Addison had such a great year in kindergarten and loved her teacher Mrs. Scoville. I cannot even believe that my sweet #1 baby is in 1st grade! Life is passing way too
quick. I'm going to miss Addison so much this year. She has been such a huge help with baby Drew and she's so fun to talk too all day long. Olivia is going to miss her best friend like I can't even imagine. 6 hours without our Addie is going to feel like forever. But she is so thrilled and eager to keep learning and be with her friends. But oh, I'm going to miss her something serious!
Jeff: Addison, what do you want to be when you grow up?

Addison: A scientist.

Jeff: Plant or animal?

Addison: Not animal because then I would have to pick up rattle snakes. So a potions one.

Jeff: A potions scientist . . . ?

(So is that a chemist or a professor at Hogwarts?)

So, 3 is killer. Or maybe I just forgot what it's like to have a baby again. Drew (knock on wood) is another happy baby but I hold him almost all day. He's just so sweet and they grow just so fast. At first I was frustrated that I got nothing done all day long, but now I've mentally given up and it's just so much better that way. Everyone keeps saying you just have to let things go. And more and more goes with each new baby. When school starts we'll start a schedule with the girls and work and sleep train the baby. But for now we're honestly just hanging out all day, everyday loving our baby (and watching TV in our pajamas).

This week . . .

We had the Joker to lunch. . .
Drew got in a fight with a cat (or he was in the baby bjorn for the afternoon with his hands by his face) . . .
and Addison got her first really horrible sunburn (bad mom) after a day of slip and sliding at the neighbors.
