Addison turned 9 . . . seriously.
We celebrated at Banna and Branda's with Ansen (post to come) first and she got some new clothes.
On her actual birthday we checked her out for lunch and a little impromptu shopping. I thought the shopping was a big bonus . . . a little extra "cool mom" points. Buuut not for this one I later found out because "she was missing class time."
We went to Build a Bear with Banna and then dinner and cupcakes at Costa Vida with a lot of my Sharp family that was there from out of town.
Then home for more presents . . . Dolphin tail, Justice GC, slinky bracelets and a pedicure kit.
And though our big present was a touch of a disappointment since she was hoping for a iTouch we let her pick out her own new bike and she came home with this one . . .
We looked around and they were all okay . . . but her eyes lit up when she found this one and the decision was done.
Addison:
1. You've almost finished reading the Harry Potter series by yourself now.
2. You can make eggs, muffins, oatmeal and grilled cheese easy on your own (and you actually make breakfast one or twice a week and dinner at least once right now).
3. You come right home and do all your homework, reading and spelling without me saying a darn thing. You're so self motivated in that way so far.
4. You have your double back handsprings, tucks and front handsprings. I've watched you and you work hard and always keep trying.
5. You are fiercely loyal and protective of your little sister and little brother. They love you so much and look up to you in every way imaginable.
6. Your alarm goes off in the mornings now and you are up and at 'em. You have a routine. I can't believe how responsible and self sufficient you are. Sometimes it makes me sad (since I should be the Mom) and most of the time it makes me so happy with how much you're learning and growing.
We love you our Addie Babe!
